Adjuncts

While Picolaser, HIFU and needling procedures are staples in non-invasive collagen induction therapies, newer adjunctive products entering the skincare market are being used as auxiliary therapeutic agents in combination with these more mechanical means of skin regeneration. In the recent past, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections have shown impressive results at skin regeneration, but have remained cost prohibitive more generally; state of the art scientific progress using mesenchymal and stem cells, exosomes, nucleotides, peptides and growth factors may offer superior benefits without the need for costly blood extraction.

These alternative biostimulators, products which stimulate our own ability to regenerate healthy youthful skin, have recently made their presence known in North America, following more popular usage in Korea and Europe, where novel bio-skingeneering injection techniques and applications have already been rigorously conducted. (Source) At Skinenvy, we promote the use of different therapies and modalities in conjunction with one another to strategically ramp up regeneration. Below are the certified products we recommend using alongside our procedures:

Exosomes

Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles secreted by stem cells, containing powerful bioactive messenger molecules that signal to skin cells to regenerate, heal, and produce more collagen and elastin, leading to firmer, younger-looking skin. Exosomes stimulate fibroblast activity, promoting the synthesis of collagen and elastin for firmer, more resilient skin. They speed up tissue repair and their anti-inflammatory properties help calm irritated skin, reducing post-treatment redness and sensitivity. Exosomes enhance cell turnover, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation for smoother, more even-toned skin. They help restore the skin’s moisture balance, improving overall hydration while strengthening the skin barrier. Exosomes used in skincare are derived from ethically sourced mesenchymal stem cells and undergo rigorous purification. They are free from DNA, making them safe for cosmetic use with minimal risk of adverse reactions. Exosome therapy represents the future of regenerative aesthetics, offering a non-invasive yet highly effective approach to skin rejuvenation. Whether used alone or combined with microneedling and lasers, exosomes provide unparalleled skin renewal benefits, helping achieve youthful, radiant skin with no downtime.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotide treatments are injectable regenerative therapies that stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, hydration, and reducing signs of aging, scars, and hyperpigmentation. You may have heard of the fish sperm needling therapies that are generating buzz in celebrity forums; well, polynucleotides are short chains of nucleotides derived from fish DNA, which are used as bio-stimulators to promote skin regeneration. When injected under or into the skin, polynucleotides activate skin fibroblast cells, triggering the body's natural healing response and leading to increased collagen and elastin production. While one will more than likely see some initial improvement early on after administration, like most of our therapies, the full effects of polynucleotide treatments typically become visible after a few weeks to months, as the body's natural regenerative processes take time.

Different Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid Formulations

Low molecular weight non cross linked hyaluronic acid is a great way to hydrate the skin while simultaneously stimulating an inflammatory response leading to the production of collagen and elastin being produced endogenously. It adds moisture but not volume, and improvements can be seen immediately in the form of more lustrous and glowing skin, while also inducing the skin's regenerative processes. Products like ProfHilo, hyper popular in Europe but not yet given the FDA's ok in the US, use both high and low density hyaluronic acid and are popular here at Skinenvy where we administer it using the BAP technique for instant dewy skin and collagen banking.

Peptides

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that make up certain proteins needed by the skin. Collagen is itself made of three polypeptide chains, so adding peptides can stimulate your skin to make collagen. More collagen can lead to firmer, younger-looking skin and our bodies are programmed to make new collagen naturally under the right conditions. GHK-Cu, a copper and amino acid peptide, has shown impressive results in stimulating skin fibroblasts. When applied to the skin, or injected subcutaneously, GHK-Cu signals skin cells to ramp up collagen synthesis. By boosting collagen production, GHK-Cu helps restore skin firmness and elasticity, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When used concomitantly with a procedure which signals to your body to repair itself (as with HIFU, the picolaser or skin needling) , the dynamic between the peptide present and the cascade of natural healing processes leads naturally to smoother, plumper, more youthful skin in a matter of weeks.

Amino Acid and Vitamin Cocktails

Preparations using different cocktails of amino acids, vitamins, growth factors, hyaluronic acids and proprietary ingredients have come onto the market. Some have undergone extensive scientific study and have published promising results with claims of collagen induction across the spectrum of the myriad different types more recently identified.

What to Expect

While these are all products which are either injected below the skin or introduced into the microchannels formed on the skin's surface by needling therapies, these are all products designed to bolster your own innate biological processes. Gone are the days of stretching and overfilling the face to plump up sagging skin and laxity with migrating fillers; new technologies not only contract and tighten sagging lax skin and its underlying structures, but concomitantly amplify nature's own processes to signal it to turn back the clock. The body already has the template for beautiful skin, we are simply prodding it, and supplying it with the information and the ingredients it needs to return to an earlier time when it was more proactive.
